What does “Matching” mean in care platforms ?

When it comes to organising care, the word “matching” has been somewhat misused or even misunderstood.

In practical terms, matching should mean taking note of and understanding what the person’s needs are and helping them access the right care that suits their own individual circumstances.

However what matching has come to mean in care sector is “matching your post code” partly due to the rapid proliferation of lead generation platforms, some originals and some me-too ones, as the model is really easy to copy.

One of the reasons why we need to challenge status quo, and why we started Care Marketplace is because today’s Technology can help us match the needs of users to skills of workers and put businesses in a much better position to drive better care outcomes.

When we speak about person centred care, it must start from within the purchasing process. While execution is everything, giving buyers a choice and giving sellers the visibility of the real demand can have significant benefits if adopted at scale and sector wide.
